Got some speed/marathon pace miles in this morning on the treadmill (1.5 incline).
2.5 mile warm up
2 x 1 mile @ 6:00 with .5 mile recovery (8:25 pace);
2 x .5 mile @ 6:00 with .25 mile recovery (8:25 pace);
1 mile @ 6:58 pace;
2 mile cool down
The run felt pretty good. No cramping or hamstring issues. I think the 6:00 pace is a bit too aggresive for 1 mile splits for me at this time and I probably would have been better off running more mile sets at a slightly slower pace. |
